Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on the start of the week.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

McKenna referred to the Glasgow giants as "an enormous football club" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only four games last season as they were demoted back to the Championship and they currently sit twelfth place in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those conversations," the English capital native ex- Irish young player said when questioned about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my concentration is this week.

"I have a special job here at a remarkable club. And we're at a really important stage of the campaign. Everything external hasn't touched my radar."

Context and Contractual Aspects

Reports indicate that McKenna would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"During youth, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely all people has to go around and announce what they used to be, but of course it's a really big sports organization."

The coach signed a new four-year contract in 2024 and was asked about his reported £5m release clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I approach this role like I will remain Ipswich manager forever. I know that's not invariably going to be the case, but I will consistently do my best as while I remain in position."

Bellamy's Situation

The former striker represented the Hoops on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Welsh forward is minded to complete the ongoing World Cup campaign, a position that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from assuming the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their World Cup group behind leaders the Red Devils and second-placed North Macedonia.

Wins over the minnows and their rivals in November would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually assured of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive Nations League performance, even if they fail to finish as Group J second place.

Given his current position, Bellamy, whose agreement concludes after Euro 2028, would be unavailable until following the play-offs at the minimum.
