Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
