Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who jumped a barrier and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or deported from Singapore.

A circulating video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and rushing toward Grande while the cast made its way down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being taken in", though court documents revealed that he was set to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was charged.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile features clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last December.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Express Concern Over the Star's Past Trauma

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more message on Instagram.

Some fans also questioned guards at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Event Details

In videos circulating online, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Numerous of supporters had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore venue, including some who had queued for as long as many hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-film interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising relationship between two distinct characters.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and received a dozen Oscar nominations, winning a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
