Trevoh Chalobah emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of brothers to be selected for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is set to be added to the England squad to cover for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old footballer is due to join the national side for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, although it has still not been officially announced.

The national side have already qualified for next summer's competition.

Chalobah earned his maiden call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the selection for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the subsequent October international break.

Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea first-team bow in the year 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in all but four fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team third in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi suffered a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar recently.

There are likely to be other call-ups to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the squad.
